Learning About Cotton Production on the Farm

This week many of the cotton industry's leadership and researchers are headed to New Orleans to compare notes on some of the studies that are being done whether it's about challenges on the farm or potential innovations in textile manufacturing and everything in between.

After hearing several people say they were headed down, we thought this may be the exact time for people new to cotton to start building a sturdy framework about the agricultural side that sets you up for success.

Working in sustainability at a clothing brand or doing financing at a bank, our Cotton Program offers you a chance to build vocabulary, knowledge, insight and awareness of some of the resources in the industry. This video provides some highlights and faces you will encounter along the way including  Marshall Hardwick,  Steven Chapman,  Cannon Michael &  Ken Lege.

This is an in-depth introduction to agriculture, farmers, growing crops and specifically to what is involved in producing cotton fiber for our favorite jeans, tshirts and more. The program brings together more than 11.5 hours of video programming, dozens of illustrated PDFs and vetted resources.

You can register for the Cotton Program by going to the program's landing page groundedinag.com/cotton, clicking the buy button and entering the promo code BELTWIDE at checkout will get you 20 percent off throughout January 2025.
